Secura Consulting provides practical, proportionate support to small businesses and organisations seeking to strengthen their approach to safety, risk and assurance.

Led by Principal Consultant Damian Nisbet, Secura draws on more than 30 years of operational and leadership experience across military, law enforcement, local government, mining, heavy industry and the private sector. This experience has been gained across Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and other challenging operational environments where safety, risk, security and organisational performance are closely connected.

Damian is the “Risk Guy Doing Safety.” He approaches safety through the broader lens of organisational risk—focusing on objectives, controls, assurance and operational reality rather than paperwork alone. His work helps organisations understand what could affect their success, identify the controls they rely upon and build confidence that those controls remain effective.

Secura brings a risk- and assurance-focused approach to workplace health and safety, supported by extensive experience in emergency preparedness, investigations, security, governance and operational improvement.

Damian has supported organisations operating in complex and high-consequence environments where effective risk management extends well beyond compliance. Secura provides an avenue for him to use that experience to support smaller businesses, contractors and organisations that may not have access to dedicated internal safety, risk or assurance resources.

Alongside his full-time professional role, Damian operates Secura selectively, undertaking work outside his primary employment commitments and focusing on smaller, clearly defined engagements where practical value can be provided.

Support may include:

• advising on policies, procedures and governance

• supporting risk assessments and critical control reviews

• conducting investigations or independent reviews

• reviewing contractor management arrangements

• assisting with emergency preparedness and response planning
